Am I in a Wormhole? Part Deux
As you step out of the lander, you behold the alien landscape that stretches before you. You only have a moment to bathe in the glory, for you begin to hear wingbeats in an otherwise silent world. As you swivel your head to try to find the thing that is making that sound, you look up and see a flock of pterodactyls flying overhead.
Scared, you shuffle into the lander and take out a pair of night-vision magnifying goggles, a customized rifle, and a radio and try to look more closely at the strange beasts. The pterodactyls have two heads, six wings, and three eyes on each head. As you study each individual beast, you begin to realize how to tell them apart. The males are purple with magenta spots on each wing, and the females have longer wings and are different shades of blue with red tails.
Suddenly, as you study the little baby aliens, you realize that the lead one is looking at you, and is leading his flock to the top of the mountain that you crash-landed on. As they land on the giant mushroom next to you, you realize that each pterodactyl has a pair of very human hands with two opposable thumbs, like koalas. You try to greet the strange creatures, but as soon as you open your mouth, the leader of the flock points to himself and says:
“Malarch”. You understand that he is saying his name, and point to yourself and say:
“Lusiné”, and gesture toward the landscape around you, and shrug, as if to say: “Where am I?”
Malarch replies: “Tradomner”, and points to his flock and says: “Kondolar”, and points to you and waits for you to reply.
You say: “Human”, and smile. Finally, aliens are real!
